Guitar Hero Social Networkers Tease Muse DLC

Is this article a bit sensational and reactionary? Absolutely. Is it investigative journalism at its finest? Well, maybe not at its finest, but we think we’re onto something.

Maybe it was an obvious and innocent tease, but when Guitar Hero’s official Facebook page teased up with the juicy tidbit listed below, we couldn’t help but take note.

After the highly requested band has made a few brief appearances in music games and DLC, they have quickly become a running joke every time DLC is announced (see: “yeah this DLC is great, but you know what would be even better? MOAR MUSE!!1!”). Ah, who are we kidding, the community has never said “this DLC is great!”

To add on to the fact that the Facebook Guitar Hero team mentioned Muse and DLC in the same sentence, when yours truly tweeted about it (see below), Guitar Hero’s Twitter (likely operated by the same person as the Facebook account) retweeted my statement, only adding to the suspicions.

Well there you have it folks. That’s our theory and we’re sticking to it. Could it be a hopeless conspiracy theory mixed with a little wishful thinking? Perhaps. But we think, on this one at least, that Jesse Ventura would be proud. We’re not sure if that reflects good or bad on us.

What do you think? Are we reaching a little bit, or are we simply reading between the lines?

I sure hope this is a big, fat hint that there will be more Muse. It wouldn’t surprise me that they would go with a band that so many people have wanted more songs by. Especially if it’ll be the last batch of DLC for a while.

  2. TuleRune says:

I think it will be a Muse 5 pack and Resistance as a free single for Wii and PS3.

has anyone noticed that Foo Fighters released a new song “Rope” on March 1st? (my birthday 😉 btw) so, have that in mind

      • DucksFAN says:

I’d love to have “Rope”. Saliva just released their new single “Nothing” on February 1. That would be awesome to have.

  3. PSPCOW says:

Something RB will seemingly never get: MOAR MUSE

  4. peepi says:

They said the same with KoRn

  5. Ed Tanguy EWE says:

    But… i want WII DLC :/

and If we get Muse… it should be Assassin, Knights of Cydonia, Plug in Baby, etc. (LOL that Google Chrome believes it should be Knights of Croydon xD )

and i think WII should get ALL previously Xbox and PS3 exclusive DLC!!!

  6. James! says:

I don’t think this is necessarily a sign of Muse DLC. Guitar Hero’s FB page posts stuff like this all the time.

    • Mike100377 says:

Yes but knowing that GH DLC is over after April, why would they even say, ‘What Muse song woud you want to see as DLC?’ that is kind of an odd question to ask when you know that there won’t be anything new after April.

  8. DucksFAN says:

It’s Muse. 100% sure, just watch tomorrow.

  9. It's-A-Me says:

If there’s one thing you should never do, it’s getting excited over something. It’s not always good to be optimistic because if things don’t go according to plan, you get excited for nothing and go into a spiraling depression, while being pesimistic will lead to no dissapointment if things don’t go according to plan.

  11. Rab says:

Looks likely since they tweeted you, but then I’m still waiting for the 311 I assumed was on the way since Guitar Hero posted a video of the band ages ago.

  12. HeyRiles says:

Reminds me how PowerGig constantly links bands and songs that have nothing to do with them

  13. gordofredito says:

I foresee “The Small Print”, but they did this with KoRn so, don’t get too high

  14. Pancho says:

If no Muse DLC is released, I will call this one of the biggest trolls ever, barely shining through HMX’s spotlight of troll-worthy moments.
