I don’t know about y’all, but I’m pretty stoked for Sex and Candy.

  2. DVD Smith says:

I hope this is true, I’ve wanted Matchbox Twenty in GH since forever. Sad that the Dolls track isn’t Iris, though.

Also, I believe the original article was in French, RdNetwork posted it on his Twitter feed.

  3. Ed Tanguy says:

i’ve not heard of any of these songs but i do know R.E.M and i’ve heard the name Goo Goo Dols before…. not my fav track pack… but i’ll see when they become available whether i’ll get them or not 🙂

  4. dlongrox67 says:

  6. gordofredito says:

if this is true, this might be the best pack ever released

  7. gordofredito says:

with Semisonic, I think this would be the best 90s pack ever

    • GreenalienGH says:

Semisonic would have been nice in there + Runaway Train by Soul Asylum & Gel by Collective Soul

      • JayJay says:

Ironically enough, the only time I’ve ever heard Runaway Train (and I believe it was just a cover) is from the videogame Donkey Konga 2! I’d never heard the song before or after that game.

  8. Mr Mogel says:

Not my favourite Goo Goo Dolls, or REM song but OMG Plowed by Sponge!!!
    Definitely getting that!

  9. Jake says:

Im really looking forward to this, this will be amazing

  10. GHJake says:

I’ve never heard these songs before…

  11. Game!Ov3r says:

SEX AND CANDY!!!! Finally a song that I actually like coming to DLC. Its been a while since I bought anything from Guitar Hero.

  12. Obsoleteshock says:

Wow, Plowed by Sponge is the biggest incentive I’ve had to go back to GH since I went Rock Band exclusive after GHIII. I’m very envious of you guys right now.

  13. JayJay says:

I like The Goo Goo Dolls and REM, but no Iris or Slide and Everybody Hurts or Shiny Happy People?

  14. Dave says:

It’s about frickin time one of these games had Matchbox Twenty or Goo Goo Dolls. Probably my two favorite bands who have never had any game content. And I have Sex & Candy in Lips, but I’ll get it again. Must buy for the whole pack.

  15. Leonardo Storti says:

I don’t care for any of these, since I don’t know them and they probably will suck….

I don’t see Coheed and Cambria, Dream Theater, Iron Maiden, Alice In Chains, System of a Down, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Pearl Jam, AC/DC, Bloc Party, Saosin, Muse and Led Zeppelin in the pack. Therefor, making this setlist mentioned above completely uninteresting for me. (I could have said RUSH in there too but we had a pack a few weeks ago with RUSH in it so I am satisfied with that for a while.)

    Activision, please release actual bands…

    Your biggest GH fan

    • lololol says:

      “Activision, please release actual bands…”

      >Please release music only I enjoy

      • JayJay says:

        ^ What Lololol said.

      • Leonardo Storti says:

I have like more than 10 friends, and never have I seen them listen to bands such as the ones mentioned above. I mostly see em listining to several of the bands I mentioned like for example: Coheed and Cambria, Iron Maiden, System of a Down and possibly some AC/DC.

The list of artists I mentioned are actually artists everyone knows about and are probably the ones listened to almost constantly, you can’t honestly say this is a setlist created for me I know ALOT of people who listen to these guys especially Dream Theater. These bands are REAL BANDS, and I am quite sure these are the most widely asked for.

Does Activision listen? No…Do they care? Hell No…Do they love money? And do they reach into your pockets? And do they love screwing people over?…yes, yes oh lord yes

        • lololol says:

Maybe it’s because I’m over 20 years old?

        • JayJay says:

They gave us Rush, Poison, Alice Cooper, My Chemical Romance and Slash last month. Now they are giving different artists that most likely appeal to other people that may not include you. Not every week nor month can or should be yours, not unless you like every band or artist in existence.

Be happy that Activision are at least trying to provide something for everyone. I’m not necessarily happy about the particular song choices for the artists that I do know, but that doesn’t make them bad.

From this site alone you’ve seen people who recognise and are looking forward to some of these songs.

One persons trash is another persons gold. Try to think of somebody other than yourself for a change.

        • Vicarious says:

So you’re basically saying that the artists in this pack are completely unknown…

Either your are one of the most naive people in the world, or an awful troll…

If you seriously don’t know R.E.M, The Goo Goo Dolls, or Maroon 5, you have to have been either born a year ago or you have been living under a rock your entire life.

Seriously, just because you listen to Metal doesn’t mean that’s the most requested genre…

“But Dream Theater and Coheed are prog” I’m sure you’ll say…

Seriously, widen your musical taste or don’t complain.

          • Leonardo Storti says:

I don’t really give a damn what anyone says, and by the way most of the artists I mentioned are not just metal.

I have more than 5,000 songs in my iPod each from rock n roll to classical rock to metal. So you can’t fucking say I only listen to metal, I have variety asswipe, this was just the tip of many other artists I could have mentioned, I just didn’t want to mention them all I only mentioned the best ones, otherwise the list would have been rediculous. And yes I know who goo goo dolls REM and Maroon 5 are, they suck except for possibly R.E.M but bad choice of a song seriously…I don’t see why Maroon 5 is in this game anyway, I don’t consider them as a band at all. But what can you do people listen to the most crappiest bands nowadays.

if any of you like this setlist fine I don’t give 2 shits. However, this is probably one of the worst DLCs I’ve seen so far…

best regards to you people, and kiss my big fat ass

          • DucksFAN says:

Dude, you and I are the same. I wear my heart of hard rock, classic rock and all forms of metal on my sleeve, and I don’t give a shit what ANYONE thinks. I love how you rejected this list as I have. Unfortunately, I have been driven away from the guitar hero forums for being confident in my posts. The Goo Goo Dolls, R.E.M., and Maroon 5 are crappy bands, totally. So to everyone who likes them and is giving this dude a hard time, you can stick a hard one in the poop shoot.

          • Brian says:

            This is intended for everyone.

If you think Activision is intentionally releasing “bad” or “unpopular” music, you’re a fool. Why would they release music for their game that wouldn’t sell? How would that benefit them?

People have different tastes in music. Period. The sooner people realize that, the sooner you’ll understand that the Guitar Hero franchise doesn’t revolve around their tastes and their tastes alone.

And please people, try to articulate an argument without resorting to childish name calling. It’s getting really old and makes you look like an idiot.

    • DucksFAN says:

      SAME for me LEO.

  16. Mumrat says:

    This pack rules. Period.

  17. Danny says:

How can anyone here say this track pack rules? All 5 songs are boring and way to easy. Sure they’re songs you recognize or liked when you were younger, but you’re gonna play it once and be like “that was it?” screw that.

    • Elliott says:

Thanks for showing up and telling everyone how they are supposed to feel about DLC they bought!

    • JayJay says:

I actually like songs that are fun to play and listen to over button mashers that just aren’t as enjoyable. Difficulty =/= fun.

      • Mumrat says:

Amen. I get sick and tired of going online to a bunch of kids who only want to play Fury Of The Storm over and over again. I’ll pass and play something soothing to the ears on my own instead.

    • Mumrat says:

Honestly, I could sing Matchbox Twenty and Goo Goo Dolls a million times and never get bored with them. And if I started to get bored with them, I’d whip out the boom mic stand and eithe play guitar or drums while I sing. Sure, if you just play guitar, the game can get a little boring…thats why you gotta double up!

  18. Jake says:

I think the nostalgia is the best part of these songs, yeah they may not be the hardest, but they sure are fun and bring back memories, so i really enjoy this pack, especially Real World and Plowed, i havent heard those songs in years

  19. JayJay says:

Well the reply tag isn’t working for some people’s posts so I’ll just say this: I DESPISE the elitist attitude some people take towards music as if their likes and dislikes are law, and thus infallible.

Nobody is saying that people aren’t allowed to like or dislike something, but it’s when people take it to an extreme that they intentionally rub it in people’s faces as if they have a right to act like jerks that really annoys me.

It’s people like that that shame music with their bigotry.

  20. foreverBK says:

I think this pack is awesome. There isnt alot of music I dont like, but these songs bring back lots of memories. Ill pick up these songs as soon as I get some more points.

  21. Thaylise says:

Matchbox Twenty on Guitar Hero is A DREAM COME TRUE!!!!!!!!!
    Just LOVE IT!!!!
Please I want more songs from Matchbox!!!!

  22. Rusty says:

Not bad. I would’ve chosen another Goo Goo Dolls song. Too bad there’s no Collective Soul or Live, those define the 90s for me.

Soild week, but not the kind of week to be released for a game that’s a hardcore plastic instrument test.
