Soundgarden premieres “Black Rain” music video

What do you get when you cross the most brutal metal band in the universe with one of the most anticipated video game titles of the year and the most exciting band reunion in as long as we could remember? The answer is, surprisingly, the official “Black Rain” music video.

The band claims they were going for a very particular vision right off the bat. “monsters; big, huge, wide shots; Dethklok; getting them in there somewhere, and Soundgarden. And then this idea of this gigantic robot that’s going to fight the monsters, Dethklok screws something up, and it’s up to Soundgarden to kind of fix and save their home city of Seattle that’s been under attack by these outer space monsters” was apparently the wording that Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil used when explaining his vision to Metalocalypse creator, Brendon Small, according to a Spinner report.

We get just what Thayil seems to have been looking for. The video contains epic battles, plenty of Dethklok and Soundgarden, and even a cameo of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The guy appears to actually be rocking out to the “Black Rain” expert guitar chart too.

We definitely like it, what do you guys think about the much anticipated single and the video that accompanies it?
