Guitar Hero: Metallica finally gets exportability!

It’s always seemed like the tracklisting from Guitar Hero: Metallica would fit right in with the overall feel of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock. The only problem? It’s been nearly a year since Guitar Hero has seen exports of any kind. Fans have been clamoring for these tracks to be exported into the main library since the feature was announced.

Today, Activision granted that wish. Not only will fans be able to export 39 of the tracks (yes, including “Ace of Spades) into Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, but they’ll be able to do so FOR FREE (given that you have an export code, which is on the back of every Guitar Hero: Metallica instruction manual, you buy Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock before October 5th, AND you live in the United States).

Check out the tracks below and get ready to rock as these tracks export to Warriors of Rock on September 28th!

For those that want to know here are the songs that do not come over on the import. Kind of confused on some of them, like foo fighters. They imported on both ghwt and ghsh so i don’t know how they make it. Would’ve loved to see stone cold crazy and toxicity also but just the fact this happened (and it’s free!) is so awesome.

  2. RdNetwork says:

    Holy cr*p ! Awesome news.

    And FREE !!

“*The free Guitar Hero Metallica import offer will only be available to US Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 owners.”

    DAMN

  3. DVD Smith says:

Most epic part of this news:

Ace of Spades makes its way into three more Hero games πŸ˜€

  4. Game!Ov3r says:

I am really shocked that the AIC song isnt being exportable. Really I am sad for about 3 songs “Stone Cold Crazy” “Toxicity” and “No Excuses” not making the cut. But than again I bet “Stone Cold Crazy” will be repackaged into Queen Pack #3.

  5. AnimeCow says:

    SKWEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!

The fact that Slayer didn’t export again gives some leeway to my theory that were gonna get a slayer 3 pack, with WA, RaBl, and Angel of Death.

And we’ll defenetly see Stone Cold Crazy in Queen pack 3.

Wait, the export IS FREE TOO!?!?
    WHAT THE FU-*BOOM*

  6. SacredAngels says:

    GREAT, europe misses out AGAIN.

    How fair activision! seriously…

  7. Croq says:

    Brian,

    Bad news for Wii owners:

It is FREE for 360/PS3 users that buy and import it to GH:WOR between 9/28 and 10/5 (sorry Wii owners, no free love for you). After that, it’ll cost $5.99/600 Wii points/480 MS points.

  8. Brian says:

It’s a tough spot for the Wii, however, since the Wii doesn’t allow for free content at this time. That means it was either always being $6 or never being available. Lesser of two evils really.

  9. TylerFG says:

    About time.

  10. Zaphod42 says:

Could this mean that possibly there might be more exports in the GH series soon, like the rest of GH:WT for example? That would be awesome!

    • Croq says:

I wouldn’t hold your breath, but I guess it’s possible.

      • PSPCOW says:

Imma let you finish, but I gotta say thanks to Activision for actually doing the right thing and exporting another one of their 60$ games. Apart from that, free! Looks like I’ll also have to get legit copies of Smash Hits and Band Hero to Export.

  11. FrankieB says:

Finally getting Metallica songs in a game they need to be played in! The GHM disc is good by itself but these tunes combined with the GHWOR engine will be epic

  12. Mark says:

Now, I much prefer RB but this is great news, at least I can export it, will we be able to export to GH5? I don’t really want to buy GH6 (don’t like the setlist) but I’d love to have all the metallica songs combined with a decent setlist that is GH5. RB3 for me but maybe I’ll pick WOR after christmas when it’s nice and cheap

  13. herpaderp says:

The main reason I’m not exciting about buying yet another damn GH game is not knowing what exports into what.

Assume I buy WOR and I have all the other discs released before. What all can I import into WOR?

  14. herpaderp says:

A huge, flat list that mixes disc imports and DLC doesn’t answer my question. Thanks though.

    • Elliott says:

      What is your question?

Do you want to know which songs are exportable off GH: Smash Hits, GH: Metallica, GH: World Tour, Band Hero, and Guitar Hero 5 individually?

Because DLC is self explanatory. Everything imports in GHWoR aside from Hendrix DLC.

It only gets complicated if you have a Nintendo Wii

  15. LtlMsDngrus says:

Well…This is way cool, I just ordered my GHWOW Super Bundle today!!
Can’t wait to check out the new guitar( Since all of my 10 or so, other ones) have been used and abused too many times,by those egar beginners, who can’t wait for a chance to break your sh**!! (Except, my personal guitar, of course.)
GHMetalica is my favorie to play, it’ll definately be a swwweeet addition to GHWOW.
    Oh Yeah, ONE more thing…
    All I Wanna know is…
“HAS ANYONE HEARD OF “LED ZEPPLIN????”
    THIS SHOULD BE CRIME!!!
I DON’T CARE HOW YOU DO IT OR WHAT IT TAKES…
    JUST MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    BRING ON THE ZEPPLIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR???? Sincerely, LtlMsDngrus

  16. rocker4life634 says:

    will it work with GH5?

  17. Trent says:

The import is not free. it says it costs 480 microsoft points! thats bullcrap!

  18. Elliott says:

The GH Metallica import is finally available on Wii. The free offer still has issues, though, so if you are entitled to a free import, wait.

    About time.
