Throwback Thursday: Phish Live Track Pack

That’s right! Thursday comes before Friday! After a long hiatus, The Hero Feed is injecting some life into our community with the revitalization of the weekly Thursday Throwback feature.

To re-kick things off here, we’re giving you not one, not two, but three awesome songs in one amazing pack. Phish is a band who’s reputation is based on their mesmerizing live shows, so when Activision announced they would be bringing three live tracks from them, it was no surprise that it was met with excitement.

Don’t be fooled by the fact these songs aren’t Expert+ on drums as Jon Fishman (they named the band after him) will give you a definite run for your money. Bassists will definitely want to pick this pack up as well for the funkiest and varied basslines almost any rhythm game has offered, and for guiitar if you haven’t heard of Trey Anastasio you’d better fix that quick.

In fact “Chalk Dust Torture” was one of the last Guitar Hero World Tour songs to be 100%ed on Expert Guitar.

With all of the instruments being in the upper part of the difficulty tiers most of the time, this pack is definitely not for the faint of heart. To top it all off, the shortest song, “Sample in a Jar,” clocks in at around 5:30, so consider it one of the best values in DLC.

Officially Released: June 25th, 2009
Games Compatible With:
Guitar Hero World Tour, Guitar Hero 5, Band Hero, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock
$2 for each individual track, $5.50 for the Phish Live Track Pack

The Phish pack was one of the best ones that was released for World, till this day they’re still pretty fun to play on all instruments… even though I haven’t tried them on vox yet o.o

Phish was and still is one of my fav TP on GH 🙂 I never heard of them before, now i love them!

  4. Yusuke says:

All 3 songs on drums are quite challenging. Sample in a Jar has some very fast limb independence, Down With Disease has really fast rolls, and Chalk Dust Torture is just plain tiring all around. A definite must for a drummer’s collection.

I remember reviewing this pack. Pure orgy on bass.
