In light of these nominations, Soundgarden’s “Black Rain”, which was nominated for Best Hard Rock Performance, and Megadeth’s “Sudden Death”, which is up for Best Metal Performance, Guitar Hero will be making “Black Rain” available to each of their over 2 million fans on Facebook.
Each song has received its own impressive list of accolades. “Black Rain”, which represents the return of 90’s rock juggernauts, Soundgarden, was included in the recent Telephantasm. Telephantasm was packaged with copies of Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, which propelled the album to be the first album to ever be certified platinum by the RIAA on the very first day of its release.
“Sudden Death”, which was created by Dave Mustaine and Megadeth specifically for Warriors of Rock, represents the first time a song written for a video game has been nominated for a Grammy. Mustaine agrees that the track deserves recognition, saying:
From the first time I played Guitar Hero in Paris several years ago until recently getting my ass handed to me playing at an Activision event in San Francisco, this has been the most fun and most rewarding track I have ever written.
All you’ll have to do is like Guitar Hero on Facebook sometime before this weekend and you’ll be given the opportunity to snatch “Black Rain” free of charge. Also, while you’re there, why not like TheHeroFeed too? We’re pretty cool as well.
