The Soundgarden songs would be for obvious reasoning if this turns out not to just be a glitch, with them releasing their new single exclusively on Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, but the fact that “Dani California” is missing brings up the old rumor that Activision is prepping to release a Guitar Hero: Red Hot Chili Peppers.
This wouldn’t be the first time that an export from a previous Rock Band game has hinted at a band-centric title coming from the rival franchise. You may remember three tracks appearing as non-exportable from the original Rock Band when Rock Band 2 was released. One of the most prominent tracks was “Enter Sandman” by Metallica. Less than 6 months later, we had Guitar Hero: Metallica.
We know this might just turn out to be a glitch, or maybe an unrelated issue altogether, as Tenacious D and Anvil tracks are missing as well, but you never know.
So what do you lovely folks think? Does this hint at a possible Red Hot Chili Peppers edition of Guitar Hero, or are we stretching a little too much?
UPDATE: Well this is looking like a stronger and stronger theory now that we see that “Spoonman” and “Give It Away” from Rock Band 2 don’t export, in addition to those bands’ two songs on the original Rock Band. Keep checking back for all the latest rumors and we’ll be sure to keep you in the light.
