New Guitar Hero DLC: FREE Rocktober Three Pack! (Xbox Only)

Yeah yeah yeah, we cringe at nearly any variation of the word “October” too, but 360 and PS3 owners (sorry this seems to be 360 only for now) have little to complain about, as Activision has resumed its releasing of DLC with a three pack of artists that are very steadily requested.

First off, we have MOAR MUSE! That’s right, you heard me. For the first time since Guitar Hero III saw a three-pack, we have Muse DLC for the Guitar Hero series. The pack features their hit track, “Resistance”, and rounds out with My Chemical Romance’s “Na Na Na” and “The Infection by Disturbed.

Right now, it looks like the tracks are available individually, so if you don’t want MCR or Disturbed, you can skip those, but c’mon, who would pass up free tracks by unarguably huge bands?

The bad new, of course, is that the Wii still doesn’t support free DLC, so it’s not looking like this is coming to the Wii. Hopefully the tracks can somehow be thrown to the Wii owners, but as of now, we’re hearing there is nothing.

Not bad. You can do worse. Especially for the low low price of $0.00.

Here’s what I don’t understand…. I have a Wii, and I play the free ‘reggae’ pack all the time. Not to mention The Touch.

What happen? Was there a change, and I just missed it?

    • DVD Smith says:

Nintendo hates free DLC: that’s the bottom line. They only decided this around the time of the launch of GH5 though.

Plus, if you hadn’t ‘purchased’ any of WT’s free DLC before this came into effect, you can’t buy it any more. So only those who bought it in the WT era can play it.

Also: No Muse for Wii = /wrists

    OMG FREE MOAR MUSE

Brutal… just brutal. Not available for the Wii for free… well at least in a week we should get the tracks to buy. I see that Guitar Hero hasn’t taken that step of more than 3 songs a week. I thought they showed promise with the 6 pack before launch…but come on! October is pretty bad… this week 3 free songs (not Wii), than next week the songs a for purchase…but no new releases… than the last week ROCKY HORROR! Really? Somebody wake me when Rock Band 3 comes out.

    • Game!Ov3r says:

I took another look at the press release… and it looks like even on the 19th neither PS3 or Wii get the tracks to even buy… So it looks like the next DLC PS3/Wii will get is on the 26th…Boooooo! Bad Activision! Bad!!

  6. Ed says:

this is terrible… i mean, the tracks are… 6/10 the price is 10/10 but.. yup … you guessed it, i’m a wii owner… the RB2 DLC hasn’t shown up for two weeks… and i’ve never like soundgarden so there hasn’t been good/any DLC for GH for 4 weeks(?) my point is, i am actually outraged >.<

    • DVD Smith says:

Thank God I’m not the only one for whom the RB DLC hasn’t updated either. The message of the day is going “Jimi Hendrix available now!!” and the music store is going “Not for you you filthy European”.

  7. DVD Smith says:

At least the fact that the songs will only be free for a week suggests they could come to Wii at a later date. Like what happened with All You Need is Love.

  8. PSPCOW says:

Wow. Some GOOD free tracks apart from the Stevie ones……and from my 3 favorite bands 😀

Yet another reason why Gh WoR is the best GH EVAR!

    • DucksFAN says:

Totally agree with you there. Disturbed is my ALL-TIME FAVORITE band, with Muse in the top 10. My Chemical Romance is decent too. Best part of this is: They ARE FREE!!!

  9. Vicarious says:

You know, I was going to give GH another chance to possibly win me over with this pack, but of course with Activision being the money-digesters they are, they didn’t allow dlc after GH:WOR to be playable in GH5. Now, Instead of possibly giving them a new sale, I end up completely deterring from any future GH DLC/Games, at least until I see a noticeable difference that makes me completely turn face.

In their greed, I’m sure they’ve lost many sales, and now only can rely on the fans who constantly support them to feed their incessant hunger.

  10. rasmus says:

cant activision put a couple of people that makes new DLC like old times?
they would earn money on it which is good. and the fans can have fun too! 🙂

  11. mrssynyster says:

why not on the wii??? its not fair really !!
